I never thought I’d actually use Flickr but I decided to hop on the bandwagon.. but only because it’s the most popular option at this point. But how or why it has become this popular is really beyond my understanding. It’s not user friendly at all! Anyway, I was hoping to find a blog-friendly app to use to embed in this post but I wasn’t able to find one in less than 20 minutes. So, here are a few recent photos that you’ll find on my Flickr page. As soon as I can, I’ll add a Flickr widget or something so you can see updated images here and there on the right-hand side of my blog.
My Flickr page is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cinema_obscura/
Oh, and cross your fingers for me… I might have my very own art show early next year. It’s pending a certain curator’s decision. (I really want that venue… sigh). I’ll post an update as soon as I find out.
Latest uploads…

I find the best thing about Flickr…is that it is easily the most positive and constructive forum I’ve ever found online, unlike the hate filled comments in Youtube and most forums, the members of Flickr are generally photography lovers or art lovers and give great critiques and plenty of encouragement…of course there are also the pervs who just trawl the site for pics of girls, but hey its the internet (just note how many views any of your pics that are a bit risque and of a good looking girl tend to get…)
Good to hear that! I have been on Deviant Art for years and found that place to be amazing in terms of feedback and constructive critiques. I’ve met some amazing artists through that site. But, it is a bit busier than Flickr and Flickr has really specialized in photography more than artwork and all that. So yes, good points about feedback.
It’s still a horrible, horrible user interface. I spent way too much time looking for an “upload” button when I first created my account!
It’s also risen in popularity because google indexes it very well and MANY places have started to use it as a source for stock photography… I’ve gotten more business through flickr than anything else.
Interesting, Jesse. Maybe it’s the fact that Flickr is built so that it can be easily indexed.. it’s search engine friendly, really. So yeah, makes sense that it would become popular for that reason. Glad that you’ve been getting business.. you definitely deserve it. To my blog readers, I recommend checking out Jesse’s work (click on his name to go to his website).
