…of the day: a little bit of joy
I was supposed to return to this blog in March. Now I’m just accepting that plans change: new opportunities come up, new plans replace old plans, old priorities aren’t so important anymore. Actually, that’s one of the reasons why I’ve also neglected my 101 in 1001 list. A friend has suggested that I review it, update it and just go ahead and replace items that are no longer interesting to me. Makes sense and that’s what I’ll do. I’ll be back. If there’s a song that reminds me a lot about my youth, it’s gotta be “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”. I remember singing it with my Dad and my grandmother and listening to it over and over and over again. I use Grooveshark A LOT. It’s the best way to discover new music (especially since Pandora no longer works in Canada). One day, I entered random words in a Grooveshark search and assembled a gigantic random playlist. When I work from home, I play it and end up “favouriting” the songs I love the most. There an endless amount of cat videos out there, but there aren’t very many good animated versions out there… except for the Simon’s Cat series! The animator is incredibly talented – you can tell that he’s been living with a cat for quite a while and that he’s observed its behaviour for a while. I haven’t had the chance to talk much about one of my latest projects. It’s a website for the film and tv industry in Ottawa, Ontario. I started it because I found it really hard to find information in one central place. So I figured, why not? Oh, and just to be cute, I decided to work on an industry directory – and all of the listings will be provided for free. Why? Because I can. And I believe that this kind of stuff should be free.
